For Us or Them or Both?
Have you ever come upon someone who has tried to brush off the truths of scripture with the argument "Well, when the author was saying this, he was only talking to the people of that day, times are different now, we don't have to deal with these issues." I think this is a horrible deception that many people have bought into. Is truth relative to the times we live in? I say truth is truth no matter the calendar page. We should stand for what is truthful in and out of season and affirm God's word in all situations. It's a shame that people have apparently forgotten how to apply knowledge when it comes to biblical teachings. They can read any old book and understand it and use context to affirm the points being made by the author, until they read scripture, then all their skills fly out the window and everything is up in the air for "interpretation". Try using that argument when you do a book report in English class. Sure it may show that you are a "thinker" to any liberal professor, but no God fearing, respectable professor would ever let that through as an answer. "Uh, I read Tom Sawyer for this book report and my interpretation is that Tom and Huck represent India and China and the treasure they are looking for is really nuclear weapons." Uh no. It may sound ridiculous but that's how people sound when they "interpret" scripture to fit their needs and wants. This book has power, the power only found through Jesus Christ. I know we were promised that the Word would be scrutinized, but these things I hear just sound backwards and crazy. Sorry for the animosity, just needed to vent. Have a nice day.

I got Tagged!
What an excuse to update my out dated blog. I got tagged by Teresa (rule 1), so I guess i'll let you all in on who I am in a quirky sort of way.
The rules of the game:(1) Link to the person that tagged you.(2) Post the rules on your blog.(3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.(4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.(5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website. (rule 2)
- If I have bread with a meal, I will usually turn whatever i'm eating into a sandwich.
- I can make bubbles with my spit on my tongue and blow them out. *bad habit/nervous tic*
- I put hot sauce on most any dinner meal i'm eating (lots of hot sauce)
- I have been told I do a good job at impersonating voices.
- I don't like my first name, it means pillow and it's never set well with me when I say it out loud or hear it said.
- I don't like hearing my voice on recording, it makes me cringe with embarrassment, i've been told not to be, but I can't help it. (rule 3)
TAG! - well I don't know anybody else that blogs other than the links on my Dear Wife's blog, so I guess I broke rules 4 and 5, maybe the guys should start blogging so I can link to them.

Updated... Finally.

Hello all,
I'm finally updating my blog so first off let's get some up to date pictures. Rowan is getting big, and I mean BIG, he's already 14 pounds at 2 months old, and he's fitting "snug" into his 6-9 months clothes, you heard me 6-9 months! What a Chunk!
My brother Brady and his wife Melissa came to visit last month on Memorial Day, what a blast at Chuck E. Cheese! He's a wonderful uncle to these kiddos. He's my older brother, I don't think I have any pictures of my little brother, you can meet him later.

Meet my family

It just so happens that this is the most beautiful woman God ever designed. Thank you God for giving her to me. Amen.

This is my son Gage, he makes it difficult for me to not have too much pride. Thank you God for my firstborn son. Amen.
Praise God, He gave me a daughter named Piper, who is as beautiful as the most beautiful woman ever designed. She's got me wrapped 'round her finger and she's only 2. Thank you God for my princess. Amen.
This is my third child, his name is Rowan and he's my baby. We'll meet him real soon! Thank you God for this little bundle of joy. Amen.
Meet me.
